BAD NEWS – 11 Lions Poisoned In Queen Elizabeth NP

lake-nakuru-park

In what is an injury blow to tourism in Uganda, a tragedy befell Queen Elizabeth safari park on Friday April 13 as UWA officials found eleven dead lions including 8 lion cubs near the Hamukungu fishing village , one of the parks mot popular safari destinations.  Investigations suggest that the lions were poisoned by the locals an incident that happened before in May 2010 when five lions were also poisoned.
This is really bad news for the Uganda tourism industry as the lion is one of the most sought after mammals not only in Uganda but the whole Africa and such a deed can only degrade the ever growing tourism sector of Uganda. We at Tristar Africa Skimmer Safaris will keep you posted about the proceedings in the investigation of the dead lions in Queen Elizabeth national park.
